In 1999 I moved from Belgium to this country and gained 40 pounds during the first two and a half years here. I made several attempt to lose weight. When my employer Whole Foods Market offered the Immersion Program with Dr. Fuhrman I signed up and was accepted into the program. After the five day Immersion, I changed my lifestyle and lost 40 pounds immediately. I not only lost pounds, I learned how to eat and live healthy. I have been an example to many people in this country as well as my family and friends in Europe.
I am able to stay healthy and keep the weight off. I am happier and know more about nutrition. My husband and kids have a happy and healthy mom. Every year Whole Foods Market gives us a biometric screen test, and the healthier you are the more employee discount they give you. I have 30 percent which is the maximum discount. Now I am helping other employees take their health into their own hands and get a higher employee discount. Before I followed the Nutritarian program, I got sick at least twice a year. I do not recall being sick since I began following the Nutritarian diet style. Not even a single cold. I always used to have painful menstrual cramps, and now, most of the time, I do not.
On January 4th 2012, my husband and I experienced a head on collision with a drunk driver. I had a broken neck, a broken knee, collapsed lung and lots of cuts. My husband had two broken knees, a broken hand and fractured sternum. During our six week stay in the hospital and nursing facility we made sure to eat Nutritarian meals. The doctors and nurses couldn't believe we were healing so fast. My surgeon said he never saw anyone recovering as fast from the injuries I had. The staff in the hospital and nursing facility saw what we chose to eat three times a day and how fast we recovered. As a result, some of them changed their eating habits and that of their families, even the dietitian and kitchen manager, a success story all around. We were given a lot of medication while being hospitalized, but eating healthy allowed us to get through that traumatic time with grace.
