Many individuals who follow the Nutritarian diet write to Dr. Fuhrman about their success. Keep in mind that results vary from person to person. As always, consult your physician if you have a medical history and/or condition that may warrant individual recommendations.
Dean's cholesterol went from bad to good so quickly he and his wife cried from happiness
There is a history of heart disease and cancer in my family. My father died from a heart attack at age 49 and my mother from cancer at 63. As a result, I've watched my weight, and thought I was eating a fairly balanced diet. When I received my latest lipid results, I was shocked to see my cholesterol levels at the highest levels ever, Cholesterol - 253, HDL - 51, and LDL - 192.
A nurse recommended I read Eat To Live and Cholesterol Protection For Life. On that day, I began a disciplined exercise program and revamped my diet according to Dr. Fuhrman's guidance. Only twenty four days later I took another cholesterol test and was hoping for some minor reduction in my numbers, especially my LDL, which was of particular concern to me. What the doctor read back to me was absolutely shocking and exciting and simply left me asking her one question: "Are you sure you're reading my test results and not someone else's?" Her reply: “sir, I don't know what you’re doing, but keep doing it and spread the word to everyone you know." The results were total cholesterol - 150, HDL - 57, and LDL - 83. I was so excited that I called my wife and we started crying together.
Thank you so much for your simple, down-to-earth, yet so powerful recommendations on how to live a healthy life through your diet, and more importantly how to Eat To Live, not live to eat.
