Designed to meet the needs of people who still have LDL cholesterol above 100 mg/dl after dietary intervention, LDL Biotect offers cholesterol-lowering plant sterols, plus whole food, high-antioxidant extracts of pomegranate, chokeberry, and green tea. Plant sterols function as cholesterol-lowering agents by blocking the absorption of cholesterol from food during digestion and by blocking the re-absorption of cholesterol manufactured by the liver. Plant sterols are FDA-approved for their capacity to reduce LDL cholesterol.*
* Foods containing at least 0.4 grams per serving of plant sterols, taken twice a day with meals for a daily total intake of at least 0.8 grams, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease.
Note: Dr. Fuhrman recommends no more than 300 mg/day EGCG from green tea supplements. Two tablets of LDL Biotect contain 100 mg EGCG.
Take 2 tablets, twice daily. Best taken with food.
