Many individuals who follow the Nutritarian diet write to Dr. Fuhrman about their success. Keep in mind that results vary from person to person. As always, consult your physician if you have a medical history and/or condition that may warrant individual recommendations.

Patricia felt doomed to suffer obesity and illness until she found Dr. Fuhrman on PBS; now she lost 72 pounds, is off blood pressure meds and is running again after a 20-year hiatus
In March of 2014 I was 52 years old and weighed 210 pounds. I was on medication for high blood pressure, had very high triglycerides and was prediabetic. I was tired all the time, did not have any energy or motivation. I had tried every diet under the sun and I just kept getting bigger and sicker. I felt like my life was over and the only thing I had to look forward to was old age and death. I had given up.
One day I saw Dr. Fuhrman on PBS. What he said made sense so I thought I would give it a try. What did I have to lose, right? I immediately downloaded Eat To Live and The End of Dieting on I-Books.
I went the vegan route and stuck to the plan religiously although it was difficult for me at first because I did not like beans or cooked greens. My desire for the SAD diet went away pretty quickly and I grew to love beans and greens. The weight started coming off immediately and very fast at first. Things slowed down to two pounds a week as I got smaller. After a few months, I was already off the blood pressure medication. When I went to visit my family for the holidays they were amazed by my transformation.
As the weight came off, my energy increased. I even started running again; something I hadn't done in twenty years. I live in Colorado and have always enjoyed hiking. Now I do not get out of breath hiking and have boundless energy. The weight loss is fantastic, but the change in the way I feel is the biggest benefit of Eat To Live.
I had no set goal weight. I thought I'd be happy in the 150s. It’s been over a year and I have lost 72 pounds. I am now a happy and healthy 138 pounds. I don't count calories at all. I just eat my G-BOMBS and live my life. I no longer am obsessed with food. I now look forward to the future and all it has in store for me.
