Many individuals who follow the Nutritarian diet write to Dr. Fuhrman about their success. Keep in mind that results vary from person to person. As always, consult your physician if you have a medical history and/or condition that may warrant individual recommendations.
Kelly lost 70 pounds and is running in her first marathon
Growing up my weight would go up and down all the time. When a new diet fad was going around I was trying it. I would lose weight while on it, but then, after a while, would give up or go back to the SAD diet and gain all my weight back and then some. I was on Nutri system, low carb, diet pills, you name it and I have tried it.
I was 208 pounds when I got pregnant and when I had my daughter I was 260. That was the heaviest I have ever been. After having her, I went on another fake diet and lost all my baby weight, but then I sky rocketed back up to 230 pounds. We had just gotten stationed in Germany and I heard about a juice fast from a friend. So I watched the documentary Fat sick and Nearly Dead and did a 60 day juice. I felt amazing and thought I had finally figured out how to maintain a healthy weight. I lost weight but afterwards I slowly went back to eating a SAD diet again. My weight went back up again. A year later I was so depressed, sick, had no energy and felt very uncomfortable in my own skin. I had a little toddler who was very active and deserved to have a healthy mother.
December 4th 2012 I started a 90 day juice fast. My starting weight was 219.4 pounds and at the end I weighed 165. Directly from the fast I went on to Eat To Live, the six week aggressive weight loss program and lost an additional 15 pounds. Now I have so much energy, and work out five days a week. I just signed up for my first 1/2 marathon which I will be running on May 26th 2013. I owe this all to Eat To Live. I will never go back to eating a SAD diet again. I have finally found a way of life. I will be around for years to come.
