Many individuals who follow the Nutritarian diet write to Dr. Fuhrman about their success. Keep in mind that results vary from person to person. As always, consult your physician if you have a medical history and/or condition that may warrant individual recommendations.

Learning about food addiction and toxic hunger versus true hunger helped Bonita lose 30 pounds
I attended Dr. Fuhrman’s Immersion Program, provided by my employer Whole Foods Market, after reading all of his books. At that time I was eating a raw food vegan diet, exercising, had attended nutrition school, and was working as a Healthy Eating Specialist at a Whole Foods Market. I came to the Immersion feeling this would just be another lecture that I had heard a thousand times before. Boy was I wrong. At age 58 my version of a healthy lifestyle had me stuck between not getting results and feeling deprived. I wanted to learn how to lower my high blood pressure and finally lose weight.
I can’t thank Dr. Fuhrman and his staff for always taking time to answer all my questions. I finally learned the difference between toxic hunger, true hunger and about food addiction. I was overeating and not allowing my body to get into the catabolic stage in order to burn fat. My blood pressure is now stable and I have lost 30 pounds (went from size 14 to size 10) since following the key components of the program.
This lifestyle is very doable. So enjoy the journey. I am very grateful to work for Whole Foods Market, a company that truly cares about the health of their employees.
