Many individuals who follow the Nutritarian diet write to Dr. Fuhrman about their success. Keep in mind that results vary from person to person. As always, consult your physician if you have a medical history and/or condition that may warrant individual recommendations.
David gave up the junk food he loved to be"heart attack proof"
Thank God there are doctors like Dr. Fuhrman who are teaching us how to be healthy. I want to live my whole life and not just the first part of it. When I was 18 I felt miserable all the time. I had trouble sleeping and suffered from depression which stopped me from living life to the fullest. I wasn't even aware of my junk food addictions. I ate fast food, lots of candy bars and drank massive amounts of soda all the time. It was like I was a programed robot. I just did what the advertisements told me to do. My whole family did.
Then my grandma got cancer and passed away at 62. My uncle passed away from a heart attack at 37 and a former boss passed away from a heart attack at 42. My mother got cancer and passed away at 44. That is when I started reading lots of books. Something was seriously wrong. Why were so many people I knew dying so young? The media was silent because it makes money from the advertisements that are pushing us toward unhealthy eating and disease.
I changed my lifestyle to vegan, but still ate lots of processed food and vegetable oils. More reading pushed me in the direction of Dr. Fuhrman. I was blown away to see his patients actually get and look better. My mom spent fifteen years of her life going to doctors, but only gained more and more weight and her physical condition worsened. Eventually, she was taking fifteen pills a day and was in severe pain.
Now I am so excited. I haven't been sick in the last six years of being a vegan and I feel stronger and healthier every day that I follow this lifestyle. My total cholesterol is 116. My LDL 69. I lift weights and exercise. I want to be heart attack proof.
We are living in a whole nation that is on "auto-pilot". We need to think for ourselves and stop letting the advertisements tell us what to eat and how to live.
