Apple Oat Groats

G - BOMBS

Category: Breakfast

Tag:  Quick and Easy

A warm, hearty breakfast featuring whole oat groats—the most intact and nutrient-rich form of oats—slow-digesting for long-lasting energy. This antioxidant-rich bowl includes sweet apple, goji berries, and raisins, and can be supercharged with Dr. Fuhrman's ProBoost for an extra dose of immune-supporting mushrooms and clean plant protein.

What Are Oat Groats?
Oat groats are the whole, hulled kernels of oats—unrolled, uncut, and minimally processed. Because they’re so close to their natural state, they retain the most fiber, nutrients, and chewiness, making them the most satiating and blood sugar-friendly way to eat oats.

Ingredients

1 cup whole oat groats (rinsed)
3 cups water
1 apple, chopped (with skin)
2 tablespoons goji berries
2 tablespoons raisins (unsulfured)
1 teaspoon Ceylon cinnamon
Add after cooking
2 tablespoons flaxseed (ground)
2 tablespoons chia seeds
1 scoop Dr. Fuhrman's ProBoost Protein Powder

Instructions:

Pressure Cooker Instructions (Dream Cooker / Instant Pot):
1. Add oat groats, water, apple, goji berries, raisins, cinnamon, and vanilla to the pressure cooker.
2. Seal the lid. Cook on high pressure for 30 minutes.
3. Let pressure naturally release for 10+ minutes, then quick-release remaining pressure.
4. Stir well. Mix in flax, chia, or ProBoost while oats are still warm. Add plant milk if desired.

Stovetop Instructions:
1. Combine oat groats and water in a pot. Bring to a boil.
2. Reduce to low, cover, and simmer for 45–50 minutes, until groats are tender.
3. In the final 10 minutes, add apple, goji berries, and raisins.
4. Once cooked, stir in vanilla bean powder, cinnamon, and your optional boosters.
5. Let sit covered for 5 minutes to thicken. Enjoy warm.

Tips:
1. Add a splash of unsweetened almond or hemp milk when serving.
2. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days. Great for meal prep!
3. ProBoost adds creaminess and an earthy vanilla flavor from its blend of medicinal mushrooms and plant protein—ideal for immunity and satiety.
