Ingredients:

1/4 cup unhulled sesame seeds, divided
1/4 cup raw cashew nuts or 1/8 cup raw cashew butter
2 navel oranges, peeled
2 tablespoons Dr. Fuhrman's Blood Orange Vinegar or Dr. Fuhrman's Riesling Reserve Vinegar or balsamic vinegar

Instructions:

Toast the sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium high heat for 3 minutes, mixing with a wooden spoon and shaking the pan frequently. In a high powered blender, combine 2 tablespoons of the sesame seeds, cashews, oranges and vinegar. If needed, orange juice can be added to adjust consistency.

Sprinkle remaining sesame seeds on top of salad.

Serving Suggestion: Toss with mixed greens, tomatoes, red onions and additional diced oranges or kiwi.

Delicious! I used a whole orange in the blender, instead of squeezing it. Also, used balsamic vinegrette.

I'm a big sesame fan, and toasting the seeds really gives them a nice flavor. This is my favorite ETL dressing so far.

I tried this today and I had to throw my salad away, it was awful! I made it yesterday and for some reason today it was so bitter. These recipes on this site are really hit or miss.

I used white wine vinegar in place of the seasoned vinegar and it tasted great. We had it over a spinach salad with oranges, roasted beets, and almonds. Yum!

tried this with grated cabbage, carrot, & fennel Used 1 orange cashew/hazelnut butter 1 T balsamic vinegar and water It tasted fantastic four stars forsure

Delicious! I'm actually moaning with pleasure as I'm eating my salad right now! I used black sesame seeds and I added two tablespoons of flaxseeds, for the omega-3s. Had this dressing with my spinach/romaine/strawberry salad. To die for!

This dressing is fantastic! I love it, and makes me really look forward to my salad. I didn't toast the sesame seeds and it was still wonderful. I think it would be great on a fruit salad also.

Orange Sesame Dressing was served at the 2013 San Diego Health Getaway and was out of this world, but this can't be the right recipe. The one I had was really nicely spiced, but this one has no spices. I would really like to make the version that was served at the Health Getaway, but this one would definitely not be at all the same.

You have to blend it for quite awhile to get rid of the grittiness but once it has lost that, the flavor is great. It does thicken significantly overnight so definitely need the OJ to thin it out.

It sounds like a great recipe, but I've tried it twice now and both times it turned out very bitter! Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I followed the recipe and even ordered the Blood Orange Vinegar to see if that would help but it didn't. Maybe the oranges just weren't good enough.
