This smoothie contains some of the most nutrient dense foods you can eat - greens, seeds, berries and beans. Great for athletes!

2 cups collards, kale or baby spinach
1 cup watercress leaves
1 cup pomegranate juice
1 cup frozen blueberries
3/4 cup frozen cherries
1/2 cup parsley
1/3 cup cooked black beans
1/4 cup raw sunflower seeds
1 ripe banana
2 tablespoons ground flax or hemp seeds


In a high-powered blender, combine all ingredients until smooth and creamy.

I didn't expect this to taste great but . . . . IT'S DELICIOUS! I followed the recipe exactly and will definitely make this many more times. The ingredients are really high powered, nutritious foods. My daily workout will appreciate this smoothie.

How many grams of sugar does this smoothy contain?

Ran this thru the Chronometer app - result 37 sugar per serving -thus not for those controlling diabetes (under 20 g per serving)- the tag ‘athletic / higher caloric’ is appropriate.
