A Quick-Start Program to Reverse Type 2 Diabetes

February 15, 2017 by Joel Fuhrman, MD

In my experience as a physician for more than 30 years, I have found that once patients make the decision to regain their health, they are eager to begin that process right away. I applaud such enthusiasm and, in order to help them get started, I developed the Transformation 20 Diabetes plan. It offers guidelines, meal plans and recipes for 20 days of Nutritarian-style eating to wipe out type 2 diabetes.

A Companion to The End of Diabetes

The Transformation 20 plan is meant to be a companion to my book The End of Diabetes.  it cannot take its place. When patients discover that type 2 diabetes is completely reversible if they change their diet, they of course want to know right away what they should be eating every day. That is understandable. So while they are taking the time to read and absorb the science and details of the Nutritarian program in The End of Diabetes, they are provided with an initial plan of action in Transformation 20 Diabetes. With strict compliance, the plan is designed to reduce or eliminate the need for type 2 diabetes medication in under three weeks. This diet style is proven to be effective: in a study on people with type 2 diabetes who began following a Nutritarian diet, after one year 90 percent were able to eliminate all diabetes medications, and the mean HbA1c was 5.8, in the non-diabetic (normal) range.1

I hope it also offers those who read and follow the plan motivation to continue eating a Nutritarian diet, because this way of eating allows you to achieve better health, prolong your life and have more energy.  It is the healthiest way for humans to eat.

Meal Plans for 20 Days and More

In Transformation 20 Diabetes, users are given 20 days of meals to follow, along with recipes and shopping lists. Also included are lists of the best foods to eat, the foods to avoid and the unlimited foods you are allowed to eat on the plan. It also offers a short primer on the benefits of the Nutritarian diet and more specifically, why it is so effective for reversing type 2 diabetes.

I have also included built-in support for those embarking on the plan, because I understand how changing your diet after decades of eating a certain way may seem difficult. Transformation 20 Diabetes offers an exclusive online community to connect with for inspiration, support or just to swap recipes. It is a terrific way to interact with those who share the same goals and who are going through the same process. In short, Transformation 20 Diabetes provides a great start for you to reverse your disease.

Take Charge of Your Health

You don’t have to live with type 2 diabetes. When you take charge and are committed to fostering long-term health, you can reverse this illness and avoid the complications that come with it. This approach has proven to work. All you need is the commitment to see it through. I hope Transformation 20 Diabetes is the beginning of a whole new lifestyle for those who read and follow its advice.

I've tried things like this before and it's been a waste of money. I'll buy in 100% IF there is a 100% full money back guarntee.

As stated, It is important that when you are following the plan, you also read Dr. Fuhrman’s book, The End of Diabetes. Getting healthy requires work.  Dr Fuhrman guides you through this process.  If you are looking for a quick fix only to go back to your old lifestyle, then neither this or any other program will work.. There is no trying, only doing.  If you follow and maintain Dr Fuhrman’s steps, you will see the results.

My husband had been on statins and oral diabetic meds to control his insulin resistance and genetically linked high cholesterol. His job was very physically active. In addition he walked and added 2miles a day. And we adhered to a heart healthy diet. I am a registered nurse so I was as committed as he was. He awoke one morning with severe swelling in both legs, hands and face. I knew something was very wrong. The doctor said to stop all medications and ordered multiple blood tests. As they put it he was close to liver failure. (by the way we never have consummed any alcohol) The doctor said his body simply could no longer tolerate the medications.  I sat at the computer and said, the only hope for him is a radical diet change. I searched and found the book Eat to Live. We bought it that day. Began the plan that evening. That was 3 1/2 years ago. His lab work is in the normal range. As is mine. We have not even had a cold since going on the plan. He immediately lost 25 pounds of fluid weight and in the next 3 months lost another 25 pounds.  He continues on a regular exercise routine in our home as he is now retired. It took me about one full year to gain my new meal prep skills. I just kept telling myself. I learned to cook once and these are just new recipes. The plan says the salad is the backbone of the meal. It is! But that salad can have an umlimited number of variations. Fresh green peas can be added, along with a table spoon of blueberries onions, carrots etc. Don't be shy to try. Begin use a broad variety spices. Your taste buds will change and so will you.

We do eat meat on occassion, especially if someone has invited us to thier home. But not everyday is an exception. We cannot emphasize how Great it feels to Have Real Great Health! We both are within our correct weight range.

Yes, we all can survive on a veggie diet. Our protien intake is well over the required amount of protein and every bite is useful, not fat packed protein. Go for it and just do it. This is a great food adventure and inspite of a few not so tasty dishes not of them went in the garbage. I just learned how to add a few more spices to bring them to life. You have nothing to loose and everything to gain--- Your Health-- which is priceless at any age.

Hi, My husband and I also are truck drivers,  we are having difficulty figuring out how to eat nutritarian on the road.  How have you been able to do this? Any tips or suggestions would be helpful.  Thanks

I am a diabetic and went on the Lose10in20 first. Within days I was off B/P med, followed a few days later by eliminating heartburn meds. Soon thereafter, I stopped taking the Alpha Lipoic Acid for the neuropathy. I also should mention that I had been on insulin and dropped down 10 units per day within the first week or so, eventually even going to a non-insulin injection. I was also able to go off the metformin I was taking everyday. Plus, I've lost weight. I plan on also trying the Diabetic diet very soon. I no longer have cravings for calorically high, nutrient deficient, sugary foods at all. I'm sleeping better, have more energy and feel the best I've felt in my life!
