Question:
Do vegan athletes have the same longevity as regular people? I ask because I was thinking of Jack LaLanne, who does 2 hours of exercise a day. He is 91-92 years old and is in great shape. I know that doing too much is harmful as well. Do you know how these athletes fair in terms of longevity?
Answer:
Jack LaLanne does a lot of things right. He eats lots of organic vegetables: he juices: he exercises: he takes a reasonable supplement program, and he has a great mental attitude and a happy marriage. Kudos to him. He is a great role model for America. It is not enough being athletic, to assure a long healthy life and not just rely on luck or genetics. You have to stack the cards in your favor with the full deck of healthy habits.
