Carol lost 15 pounds in six weeks and is dedicated to eat healthy for life
In November 2012 routine lab work showed that my cholesterol was high and the doctor recommended medication. Opposed to medication I went looking for an alternative to lower my cholesterol. I heard Dr. Fuhrman on the Dr. Oz show and ordered Eat To Live. Since my daughter, who lives in Florida, was struggling with her weight, I ordered a copy of the book sent to her as well. She actually started reading the book before I did and we started discussing the things we were learning. We then decided to “try it out” for the six weeks suggested and set our “start date” to be December 12, 2012. I cleaned out all my cupboards and discarded all food I wasn’t going to eat anymore. We both stocked up on lots of veggies and were on our way.
After nine days on the diet and 6.4 pounds lighter I really felt I was on my way. I have a bad habit of weighing every day, so there were ups and downs for me, but overall the weight began to come off. And with the lower weight I hoped my cholesterol would be lower also.
It’s been a quite a journey, but here we are at the end of the six weeks. We have collectively lost 28.1 pounds. I had my cholesterol checked again and was very excited that it is now almost within the normal range. Yahoo! This is not really a diet, it is a way of life and I feel so much better that I may just eat this way for the remainder of my years. Thank you, Dr. Fuhrman.
