Gaylynn lost 79 pounds, is free of high blood pressure and sleep apnea, her husband lost 60 pounds and his high blood pressure is also gone  

BJF [Before Joel Fuhrman], my husband and I were very much a victim of false nutritional information. Although we were eating healthier than most of our friends, we ate a lot of processed foods. I, a vegetarian, ate eggs, cheese and milk products. Both of us continued to put on weight year after year and continued to suffer from multiple upper respiratory infections each year. He had sinus headaches, migraine headaches and took allergy medications every day. I was on blood pressure medication and slept with a CPAP machine for sleep apnea.

In January 2012, I was home suffering from shingles when I found a program on Michigan Public Television entitled, 3 Steps To Incredible Health. I was so impressed with the information I immediately purchased Eat To Live. I shared reading the book with my husband Mic who said he would like to try the Nutritarian lifestyle. His prime motivation was to stay healthy because we had no health insurance. We threw out all the processed and unhealthy foods, including salt and sugar in our kitchen; we made a shopping list from the recommendations in Eat To Live and filled our pantry and refrigerator with our new healthy foods. After only one week on the Nutritarian program, Mic was completely off of allergy and migraine medicine.

In August 2012, I attended a Dr. Fuhrman's Health Getaway. The event transformed my life. The exercise, the food and the fabulous lectures inspired me to do the program 100 percent.  I returned home with a new commitment and dedication to healthy living. My blood pressure had been running around 155/90. My doctor wanted to put me on blood pressure medicine. I asked her if we could wait a few months because I was following Dr. Fuhrman's plan and losing weight, exercising daily and had recently been able to discontinue use of the CPAP machine for sleep apnea. She agreed to give me three months. When I went back my blood pressure was 130/72. She was so impressed that she asked me for Dr. Fuhrman's card, the name of his book and would I share some of my favorite recipes with her. It was a thrill to have my physician ask me about my success with Dr. Fuhrman.

Mic lost 60 pounds and now weighs 160 pounds. His blood pressure runs 110/70. I am off blood pressure medicine and no longer have sleep apnea. No more CPAP machine. I lost 80 pounds, dropped from a 2X to a size 8 or 10. My husband and I are exercising daily and feeling great. We have been well which is tremendous considering we used to get several colds each year. Today, Mic and I live an even more energetic life. We ballroom dance, ride bikes, bowl, take long walks and are professional clowns. I also line dance and am part of a professional “clogging” group. We are healthier than we have ever been.

So for those who think they are too old to change, just remember, it’s not too late! The time Is right to be a dynamite Fuhrmanite. The 2000 census reported 79.6 million U.S. residents born between the ages of 1946 and 1964. Our generation has redefined every decade and today we are a significant part of what is called “The Young Old."
