traditional guacamole does not have garlic, celery, or red pepper in it. I also suggest using fresh lime juice instead of lemon... this will prevent the guacamole from turning brown. Do not use a metal knive for cutting the avocados, or a metal utensil for mashing it. This will keep it fresher longer.

I made this and it was great and it was gone in the same day I made it and there was no browning and I used silver utensils I didn't read I wasn't suppose to, till afterwards. it was great and no problems and everyone loved it I didn't have tomatoes so I used chopped tomatoes rinsed out of a can worked great I use a green bell pepper different taste but everyone loved it. and I used fresh lemons for juice. I did add paprika Red pepper and a little cumin gave it down home taste. I also think we make are own traditional recipe . I never follow a recipe to the T always have to add my own flair :)

Thanks for the recipe

Best way to keep guacamole from turning dark is to keep the seed in the guacamole.
