These bean burgers are easy-to-assemble and supremely tasty. They are made with Dr. Fuhrman's Supreme Greens G-BOMBS Soup, a convenient way to dial up the nutrient density.
3/4 cup old-fashioned oats
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1 1/2 cups cooked black beans or 1 (15 ounce) can low sodium or no-salt-added black beans, drained
1 small onion or 3 shallots, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon cumin
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grind oats and sesame seeds in a food processor until the consistency of a coarse powder.
Place beans in a bowl and mash with a fork. Mix in the oat mixture and remaining ingredients.
Form into 7 medium-size patties. Additional whole oats may be added if mixture seems too moist.
Place burgers on a baking sheet. Bake for 40 minutes, turning after 20 minutes.
