Many individuals who follow the Nutritarian diet write to Dr. Fuhrman about their success. Keep in mind that results vary from person to person. As always, consult your physician if you have a medical history and/or condition that may warrant individual recommendations.

Brendalyn lost 27 pounds after trying more than 40 decades to overcome overeating
I have struggled with overeating, maintaining weight loss and blood chemistry imbalances since I was 21 years old which has been a forty two year battle. I joined Dr. Fuhrman’s holiday challenge in 2011 but didn't follow the plan. I joined the holiday challenge again in November 2012. At that time I considered signing up with a counselor in Dr. Fuhrman's Motivational Outreach Program, but decided I would again try to do it on my own. After reviewing my blood test results with my medical provider I realized doing it alone wasn't working and got serious about following the plan on December 29th. My cholesterol, triglycerides, and glucose were all above normal limits.
I checked out all the folks who were Certified Nutritional Education Trainers through Dr. Fuhrman's Nutritional Education Institute. I reached a graduate who said her goal is to teach people the psychological tools necessary to stick to a Nutritarian diet for the long term. I signed up for a ten week telephone coaching program with her. Now twelve weeks later, I've lost 27 pounds and my blood chemistry levels are all within normal limits. I'm exercising more than I have in my entire adult life and I have more energy than ever. Beyond the physical, Eat To Live has changed my life spiritually and emotionally. I feel more balanced, grounded and in alignment with the spiritual and psychological principles I teach and strive to live as an ordained minister and a licensed professional counselor. I’m now inspired and motivated to become certified as a Nutritional Education Trainer and “pay forward” what has been such a blessing in my life.
For the first time in my forty two year dieting history, I have found a food plan that I believe I can successfully follow the rest of my life, and have the necessary tools to support me in doing so. What a relief to no longer want to eat the way I used to eat. Instead of living to eat, I now Eat To Live. And Eat To Live is not a diet; it’s now my way of life!
