Not all fats are unhealthy, according to Dr. Fuhrman. Raw nuts and seeds pack a powerful nutritional punch, and satisfy hunger better than oils because they are high in fiber and critical nutrients. The right consumption of both is associated with weight loss, not weight gain, and several seeds are rich in omega-3 fats, which are good for your heart. Dr. Fuhrman recommends only eating raw or unsalted nuts, in limited quantities, and avoiding the salted or roasted varieties.
