Many individuals who follow the Nutritarian diet write to Dr. Fuhrman about their success. Keep in mind that results vary from person to person. As always, consult your physician if you have a medical history and/or condition that may warrant individual recommendations.
Veeta's son is free of acid reflux and stomach problems
Today my son is a very healthy eleven year old. But in 2007 he had problems digesting food and showed signs of acid reflex. His doctor gave him medicine which I threw away and started researching acid reflux. Once I realized what caused it I changed his diet and immediately began to see results. He no longer has eating problems. I cook his food from scratch. He eats meat twice a week which is 100 percent grass fed lamb or beef. If he insists on having chicken he may eat it once a month. I make his juice in my VitaMix using fresh fruits and vegetables, mainly spinach. I incorporate lots of vegetables into his diet without his knowledge. I puree the veggies and fruits and use them in cooking. He says he doesn't like them, but eats them and raves how good they taste.
I do not buy boxed or canned foods with the exception of rice milk, coconut milk and sugar which I'm hope to wean off completely by the end of the year. I buy whole bulk beans and cook two cups at a time and freeze them in small glass containers for later use. I grow organic herbs on my tiny patio.I am a single mom and with limited income and have decided to do without in order to stay healthy. We ride our bikes each day two miles one way to buy groceries. This helps us to exercise and keeps my son active. I am very happy with my son's health and hope to instill in him a love of organic fruits and vegetables and healthy foods made from scratch, free from additives and preservatives. I want to be an example of living a healthy lifestyle. We have excellent insurance, but have not had the need to use it. My son only saw the doctor that one time in 2007 and has not been back since.
