Kim's Story

This is about my husband Daniel who was diagnosed with diabetes in April 2015.  He is a truck driver who almost had no exercise and had a horrible diet.  He preferred fried foods, lots of meat and few vegetables.  He also loved to drink beer when at home.  The only time he ate half way well was at home, but most of the time he was on the road eating fast food.

  I noticed he was not looking well, he had developed a large belly on his small 5'6" frame and suddenly he started drinking fluids constantly, but what was really bad is he preferred drinking juice non- stop.  I had some medical training and was very concerned about diabetes.  I finally talked him into going to a doctor which was a miracle in itself and who discovered his blood sugar was over 400 and his A1C I believe as near 13. The doctor immediately put him on Metformin, but with my own mom and sister being diabetic, I was not very comfortable with my husband being on these drugs.  I had seen my own family members just continue to get worse and more dependent on these type of drugs. 

I did some googling and found Dr. Fuhrman and ordered his book The End of Diabetes.  My husband immediately started following Dr. Fuhrman's diet and within about two weeks he was off all diabetes medication and has been ever since.  I have witnessed this diet work for my husband, he is now healthy, non- diabetic and lost 40 pounds.  I would also like to mention that for years he had abnormal liver issues with his blood tests long before the diabetes appeared.  All those measurements have been normal since starting this diet.  Thank you, Dr. Fuhrman,
