Nalida lost 71 pounds and realizes moderation doesn't work
I came back from vacation with my family and felt sicker than ever. I was under a lot of stress from the deep grief of losing my oldest nephew over three years ago. I gained more weight from stress due to dealing with school issues regarding my kids with special needs, and a diet with too much sugar and no exercise. I looked at my kids and didn't want to leave them yet if I could do something about it.
I had chronic pain everywhere and knew I was too young to be so sick. I begged God to give me a chance to heal my body even though I had abused it with food. I had a copy of Eat To Live that had been sitting in my home for years and I was finally able to take that leap for better health. I changed to a Nutritarian diet and my husband and children are also on this journey with me. No more chronic pain. I am healthier and more fit with regular exercise. I finally gave up sugar all the way the end of December 2013.
Although it was tough at first, it's much easier to abstain from sugar than try to have it in moderation. It's too addictive and a little makes the brain want more. With any addiction, you can't have just a little without falling off the wagon. So I just don't have it and it works. I've always been the baker in the family and I've learned to make healthier recipes with whole grain organic flours and whole fruits (ripe bananas, dates, cherries, etc) to naturally sweeten. I honestly do it with constant prayer (to keep from temptations of toxic food) and with information on nutrition to educate myself and keep me motivated.
My youngest is seven and I looked into his sweet face and knew there was so much still to live for, and that I wanted to do my best to be there for him and my two daughters, husband and other family for as long as I could. So I'm doing my part to improve my health. I'm happier because I love my kids more than cake and cookies. I love myself more than cake and cookies. Our family deserved a better, healthier lifestyle and I thank the Lord for another chance to make it better As of November 2014 I lost a total of 71 pounds and six dress/pants size. Thank God for Dr. Fuhrman.
