Many individuals who follow the Nutritarian diet write to Dr. Fuhrman about their success. Keep in mind that results vary from person to person. As always, consult your physician if you have a medical history and/or condition that may warrant individual recommendations.
Glenda lost 52 pounds and easily stayed with the 90/10 eating rule while on a cruise (cruises are famous for their lavish meals)
I saw Dr. Fuhrman on the Dr. Oz show and bought Eat To Live. I began reading it Memorial Day weekend 2012. I started reading sections to my husband, and soon he was reading the book with me. Two years before I lost 110 pounds on Weight Watchers, but gained over half of it back and I was looking for a way to lose weight and keep it off. What we read in Eat To Live made sense to us. We decided to try it for six weeks as Dr. Fuhrman recommends. Our journey began on Father’s Day. We found ourselves enjoying the food and quickly saw weight come off. We began at a good time of year to find fresh local vegetables and fruit so it wasn't hard to make the change. Our children and others thought we went off the deep end, but they couldn't argue with our weight loss results. Thankfully, neither of us had health issues other than we were much too heavy.
At the six week mark we decided that we would make being Nutritarian a way of life for us. Eight months later we are enjoying how we feel, look, and what we're eating. My husband lost 78 pounds and I lost 52 pounds. Christmas was fun because we really needed new clothing.
We recently went on a Caribbean cruise and had to buy summer clothing to fit us. Cruises are famous for their food, most of which has no nutritional value, and we’re proud to say that we easily stayed with the 90/10 rule. Reading many of Dr. Fuhrman’s books and watching his DVD's have helped educate us about what things are good for us to eat and why. That makes it easier to make healthy choices, especially when we go out to eat. Almost every day we are asked about how we lost our weight and we tell people about Eat To Live, and that we're more satisfied than ever with the food we eat.
