Many individuals who follow the Nutritarian diet write to Dr. Fuhrman about their success. Keep in mind that results vary from person to person. As always, consult your physician if you have a medical history and/or condition that may warrant individual recommendations.

After yo-yo dieting for decades, Beverly lost 25 pounds and saw her cholesterol numbers go from 206 to 155 after completing the Weight Loss Challenge.
“I am 64 years old and my weight and cholesterol have yo-yoed for decades. Prior to the Weight Loss Challenge, the last diet I had tried was the South Beach diet in 2003. While I was extremely successful with that diet for a number of years, I started having spine issues, as I had been a runner for many years. I ultimately had spine surgery (which was successful) but had to give up running and had to find other exercise activities which I found difficult. Over the course of the following years, while still trying to follow the principles of the South Beach Diet, I unfortunately found myself gaining back most of the weight I had previously lost, and I wasn’t feeling right, either.
Nine years ago, I decided to give up eating all meat, however I continued to gain weight and my cholesterol continued to rise, which was very frustrating for me.
I read about Dr. Fuhrman's Weight Loss Detox and Challenge that was starting in January 2023, and that was it – I was going to be all in. Originally my goal was to lose 20 pounds, but now I have actually lost 25 pounds, I've found a great exercise routine/schedule, my cholesterol has dropped from 206 to 155, and I feel really great.
Giving up dairy and oil and salt and sugar/artificial sweeteners was hard, but I did it. I don’t miss using oil in cooking, salting my food, or putting Stevia in my tea. I must admit that the “berry bowl” included in the 10 in 20 recipes was a real turn-off at the beginning – I just couldn't get into eating nuts and seeds with my berries and it didn’t taste good to me at all. Now, I TOTALLY look forward to it – OMG, I so love this! I also love making bean (and greens) soups and I’m always experimenting with different spices and ingredients. I also truly enjoy my salads – wow, my salads are spectacular. I also love my fruit-based desserts. It’s wonderful!”
This weight loss journey has been very educational and rewarding. The Nutritarian diet has changed my life and I have no plans whatsoever to eat any differently, ever again. I look forward to continuing the lifestyle and reading/following all of the information provided on the website. There is such a wealth of information and I plan to continue taking advantage of it."
