Dr. Benson

Jay Benson, D.O.
While still in medical school, Dr. Benson dreamed of being a different type of doctor. His interests lied in searching for and uncovering the causes of disease rather than merely controlling symptoms. This quest to offer people a more effective and comprehensive approach to health care eventually led him to Dr. Fuhrman.

Excited by Dr. Fuhrman's approach and the success he had with his patients, he decided to follow Dr. Fuhrman in his practice. Dr. Benson, developed his knowledge-base in nutritional medicine and chose to fulfil his family medicine residency at the Hunterdon Medical Center, which was a mile down the road from Dr. Fuhrman's practice. He continued his training with Dr. Fuhrman simultaneously, earning his residency and certification in family medicine.

Dr. Benson has evolved into a caring and knowledgeable physician; well versed in modern high-tech medicine and the nutritional and natural methods utilized at Dr. Fuhrman's office. He sees the majority of patients at the Flemington office and works side-by-side with Dr. Fuhrman on nutritional research, lecturing and answering questions on Dr. Fuhrman's Ask the Doctor forums.

Dr. Benson graduated from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and finished his residency training at Hunterdon Medical Center in New Jersey. Dr. Benson lives with his wife and three children in Flemington, New Jersey.
