Q: Is there babysitting services?
A: Babysitting and nanny services are offered for children under 5 by the Ritz-Carlton and are not associated with Dr. Fuhrman's events. If you are interested in these services, please contact the Ritz-Carlton directly.
Q: What is the check-in/check-out time?
A: Check-in time is 4pm. Check-out time is 12 noon.
Q: Is there transportation provided from the Jackson International Florida airport to the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island?
A: For an additional fee, Dana's Limousine and Transportation Service will provide guests with shuttle services to the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. You can reserve a shuttle with this self order form or for more information, contact Dana's Limousine and Transportation Service at 1-800-456-5466.
Q: Is there parking at the hotel?
A: Valet parking is required at the resort for $17 per night.
Q: What is Florida weather like in August?
A: The temperature is in the 80's during the day and in the 70's during the evening with a nice breeze perfect for a light sweater.
Q: Is Amelia Island affected by hurricanes?
A: According to the National Hurricane Center, you are 25% more likely to experience a hurricane on Manhattan and Long Island than on Amelia Island.
In the last 155 years, just three storms of hurricane strength have come ashore in the vicinity of Amelia Island. In fact, the last time Amelia Island experienced hurricane conditions was when Dora came ashore about 50 miles to the south in 1964.
The locals refer to the island as a "protected island" geographically.
